This is the command to use if you want your Server 2012 R2 to synchronize its time against a time server:<\/p>\n

w32tm \/config \/manualpeerlist:pool.ntp.org,0x8 \/syncfromflags:MANUAL<\/strong>
\nnet stop w32time<\/strong>
\nnet start w32time<\/strong><\/p>\n

pool.ntp.org is good to use because it is a round-robin of random selected NTP servers.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your server is a VM inside a Hyper-V, remember to disable time sync on the virtual mashine in Hyper-V manager.<\/p>\n

Other useful commands:<\/p>\n

w32tm \/query \/configuration<\/strong> gives you the configuration
\nw32tm \/query \/status<\/strong> gives you information
\nw32tm \/resync<\/strong> Use it on a client to force a resync of the time<\/p>\n

If you want to start from scratch you can reset everything by running this command:<\/p>\n

net stop w32time<\/strong>
\nw32tm \/unregister<\/strong>
\nw32tm \/register<\/strong><\/p>\n
